INterCEPTION
There’s this guy who lives 3 different lives. On the surface…he lives his hum drum life, works his 9-5 grind full of uneventful occurrences, and gets the most out of his “real world” during the times in which he day dreams. His day dreams are filled with visions of fame, million dollar incomes, and extravagant excursions to exotic locations. It’s ironic, because when he sleeps, his actual dreams are just muddled and strange replays of incidents that happened during the day. They lack creativity, lack excitement, lack the true qualities of what dreams should be. So maybe it’s not in sleep where he slips to different levels, but when his mind and body is most active where he does. Awake he’s plagued by societal pressures and asleep he’s plagued by subconscious projections. But there’s escape…when he pulls that one move right before you get lost in a serious thought….your eyes roll up and to the left, as you stare up to the ceiling, to the sky, to that mind cloud above your head where you can be whoever you want to be, be where ever you want to be…for even a split second.
Then there’s the 3rd level. He’s not sleeping, but rather wide awake…it’s reality, but unknown to the world, and will never be known…therefore it’s a dream. A dream he chooses to stay in, but is he wrong for not waking up? To live in something unreal, is indeed living a lie. But in my opinion, to truly believe in something yourself, despite it being something that no one else can believe in, only you, is some place you’re allowed to stay in…some place no one can tell you to leave or “wake up” from, as long your mind is at peace during that time.
